Our Philosophy

We celebrate student individuality and cultural backgrounds, valuing every child's voice in the classroom. Each child's unique knowledge contributes to collective understanding. Education should connect intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically, creatively, and spiritually, adapting to the varied needs and strengths of each student.

What We Believe

We believe that learning is not based on worksheets or assessments alone, but rather a fuller integration of multiple tools that support meaning making. We believe learning occurs when children are not just doing what the teacher says, but when children take ownership of their learning.

Why RISE?

We believe that education must be interconnected in nature in order to address the student’s intellectual, social/emotional, physical, creative, and spiritual growth. Each instructional year will move at a different pace because our children are individuals with their own needs and strengths.

How We are Different

Students are offered numerous chances to express their wonder and curiosity, while teachers attentively respond to the children’s observations and inquiries. The questions asked aim to encourage open-ended discussions that foster advanced thinking skills, rather than seeking a specific answer.

Nurturing Knowledge, Supporting Success

Our teachers support all learners and allow for children to grow through all the developmental stages of learning as they need while also introducing new collaborative ideas of their peers and the broader more conventional scope and sequence of learning documented and supported by Archdiocesan of Chicago and Illinois State Standards. This structure is balanced because it allows for instruction to be individualized, student driven, and informed by data.
