Early Childhood Education
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new St. Agnes of Bohemia Early Education Academy. Our Early Education Academy will be offering high-quality early childhood education programs for children ages 3-5! The Academy believes we all R.I.S.E. together and students are partners in the learning journey. This Academy is designed to foster a nurturing and stimulating environment for your child's development, preparing them for 1st grade and beyond.
Elementary Program
Our objective is to develop creative, collaborative, and critical thinkers who are ready for the challenges and independence that come as our elementary students transition to middle school. We achieve this through the Illustrative Math program for mathematics instruction and the Amplify CKLA program for English Language Arts. Our teachers foster a supportive and nurturing atmosphere while upholding high expectations.
Students remain with their homeroom teachers for Reading, English, Writing, Math and Religion. Students switch classrooms for Physical Education, Spanish and Fine Art. Our 4th and 5th grade students switch for History and Science. All of our teachers build strong instructional plans based on CCSS, NGSS, and Archdiocesan Standards.
Middle School Program
As students transition to 6th through 8th grade, the expectations for responsibility, independence, and leadership rise significantly. Our goal is for students to harness these skills for success in high school and beyond, empowering them to take charge of their futures. Additionally, educators provide support for students' social and emotional development during this crucial adolescent phase through conflict resolution sessions.
Students rotate with their homerooms between ELA, Math, Science, Religion, Social Studies, P.E., Fine Arts, and Computers. Our teachers build upon the students' strong academic foundation from PK-5th Grade using CCSS, NGSS, and Archdiocesan standards.
PBIS | PositiveBehavioral Interventions & Support
PBIS is an approach designed to establish consistent behavioral expectations while supporting students across all behavioral and academic levels. It guarantees that the needs of every student are addressed!
Teachers at St. Agnes of Bohemia established clear behavioral expectations for the entire school, teaching students to be respectful, responsible, and ready in all settings, including bathrooms, classrooms, and hallways.
When students meet and exceed the expectations, they are given a "Lightning Buck." (Named after our school mascot --> Strikers!) Lightning Bucks are accumulated to meet individual, classroom and school-wide goals!
Each month, teachers choose a classroom Lightning Leader who is honored in front of the School at AM assembly. These featured students consistently met School-wide expectation of acting respectfully, responsibly, and ready.
Support Services
St. Agnes of Bohemia offers many services to support students and families with academic and counseling services that provide guidance and support, our community is dedicated to nurturing the well-being of our students. 'United Stand'
'United Stand' offers academic counseling services for students and families. We are blessed to partner with 'United Stand' to support the social and the emotional development of students and to advocate for our students.
Speech & Language
St. Agnes of Bohemia School partners with a speech and language pathologist who provides services to families who qualify through insurance.
Title 1
St. Agnes of Bohemia School works through 'Catapult Learning' to provide academic support to students in a small group setting. Students must live in the City of Chicago to qualify.
IEP Support
St. Agnes of Bohemia offers IEP Supports to those students who qualify. These supports are designed to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring they have access to the resources and accommodations necessary for their success.
